Viagra Connect is the first ever over-the-counter medicine for erectile dysfunction to be sold in the UK.
Instore: after a brief conversation with the pharmacist and a short questionnaire, depending on your answers, Viagra Connect may be recommended or an alternative.
Online: after selecting Viagra Connect and adding to your basket, you will need to complete a questionnaire which will be reviewed and processed within 24 hours.
The above questionnaires are in place to attempt to safeguard the misuse of the drug.
Interestingly, the turnover on the black market for Viagra is massive – it stands at roughly a whopping £10 million a year with men choosing to purchase unlicensed, counterfeit drugs to help with a very personal problem.
The introduction of Viagra Connect being so readily available, is an attempt to make men feel comfortable accessing the right care without the risk of potentially serious side effects.
NHS figures show us that the amount of men suffering from erectile dysfunction is on the up with a massive increase of over 2 million extra prescriptions for sildenafil (commercially known as Viagra) per year over the last 10 years or so.
