Worryingly a law has been passed in the state of Arkansas (US) that could allow family members to block a woman’s decision to have a termination by actually suing the clinic/hospital that the abortion was due to take place in.

Scarily, there is no exception in the case of where rape has taken place meaning, whoever the father of the unborn child is, even if he has raped and the child is the result of that, he can sue if she decides to terminate.
The new law could become effective as soon as spring which is majorly concerning.
You can only imagine the kind of uproar this has caused amongst women’s rights groups and rightly so.
Regardless of which side of the fence you sit on, the choice of whether to continue with a pregnancy should always be the decision of the woman carrying the child.
Let’s hope this law does not catch on!
