The dating game continues to evolve what with constant introduction of new and improved apps and websites, guaranteeing to find your perfect match.
One of the most recent and possibly most controversial, is Tinder!
Tinder is described as; a location-based social discovery service application (using Facebook) that facilitates communication between mutually interested users, allowing matched users to chat. (Wikipedia).
Tinder is one of the first ‘swiping’ apps, allowing users to view potentials by swiping right on a good match or left to move on!
The app was launched in 2012 and registers in excess of a billion ‘swipes’ per day.
Whilst for few, Tinder is a bit of fun, but many believe the quickness of finding someone that may be suitable, is a great idea and some have truly gone on to find a perfect match.
So what happens when you have swiped right and a conversation begins?
How does one maintain that convo without it drying up?
Well, according to Tinder’s resident sociologist; Dr Jess Carbino, the key is in the use of gifs!
Jess claims that gifs are a brilliant way to break the ice and help the conversation flow smoothly, it is also a good way to highlight ones sense of humour which is crucial when assessing compatibility.
Official Tinder stats show, users are 30% more likely to respond to messages with gifs than regular text messages.
