After nearly 13 years of marriage, R&B/soul singer; Mary J Blige, has filed for divorce from her husband Kendu Isaacs, citing; irreconcilable differences as the reason.
Mary and Kendu tied the knot in December 2003 but have no children together.
Mary has requested Kendu does NOT receive spousal support!
Naturally the rumour mill has been churning and many have speculated that his infidelity could be the reason for the split.
Mary has issued the following statement to People via her reps:
“Ms. Blige is saddened to say [that] it is true that she has filed for divorce, saying sometimes things don’t work how we hoped they would… but, there is a divine plan and a reason for everything. Mary will continue writing and working on her album, which is due out later this year along with her world tour. She thanks and appreciates her fans for their support and love through this very difficult emotional time.”
Mary is yet to confirm the exact reason for filing.
